Bryce Tingley

President of ER Properties

Background:

I was born and raised in Seattle. I have always been very ambitious. In Middle School through High School, I had started my own landscaping business that I had relied on to earn my own money. When I was in High School I was a wrestling champ and that took me to college on a full scholarship. From there I went all the way to the Olympic Trials. I then decided that I did not want to work for anyone after college and wanted to work for myself. So, I used my love and knowledge of construction to start ER Properties.

How did ER Properties start?

ER Properties was established in 1994. I was very passionate about controlling my own career and motivated by my love of construction. In the early 2000’s I was working really hard and met Rick Mohler on a job. Mohler is a principal of Mohler + Ghillino Architects and Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Washington. From him, I learned the architectural side of construction. My prior knowledge with construction was about making structures strong and last, but from Mohler I learned how to apply aesthetics to make homes very visually appealing. From then, I have learned to apply both mindsets to create homes that tell the client’s story.

Outlook on life:

From my personal experiences, I have learned that anything can be gone in the blink of an eye. It is so important to me to work hard, focus on what I can do to better myself every day and live life to the fullest. I want to lead by example and teach my kids to live this way, too.

What do you do?

I spend most of my time managing job sites from beginning to end. At ER Properties, we do our own dirt work so I perform excavation, sewer and utilities tie in. I am also in charge of scheduling and managing subcontractors, organizing and staging all equipment on the jobsite. When a client decides to hire an architect, I work with them to figure out the structural side of the job. I am here to ensure that each phase of the job is finished correctly with quality and care. I review all estimating and billing to ensure that we make the most of our client’s budget.

Prior to being on the jobsite, Daniela and I meet with clients to develop a scope of work and budget. We value our client relationships and want to make their lifestyle reflect on their home. We want to get to know our clients and their hobbies and values so that we can make sure we are building around them. From there, we hold weekly meetings with the client to keep them up to date with their project. We keep constant communication to always reassure our client that their dream home will exceed their expectations.

What are you most proud of?

ER Properties as a company makes me very proud. While my crew and I are taking care of the job sites, our team in the office is taking care of financials, design and communicating with our clients. Our goal at ER Properties is Evolving our client’s vision into a Reality. When we build or remodel a home, we want it to tell the story of the clients. We want you to be in love with the project that we build personalized for you. We believe that we change people’s lives by making this process so personal and building a home specifically for the client. When we finish a project, my favorite part is seeing our clients satisfied and knowing that we exceeded their expectations. That is what makes all the work worth it.

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I live for my kids. My kids race dirt bikes and are national off-road champions. We spend our free time traveling across the country to go fast and win races. We are all adrenaline junkies and like to live life on the edge.
